# Assignments for Parents

> How to assign curriculum resources to your children at home

As a parent, you can assign curriculum resources to your children for practice at home. This guide explains how to find worksheets, games, reading passages, and other resources, and assign them to your child profiles.

## How Parent Assignments Work

Parents can assign resources to their children in two ways:

## Finding Resources for Your Child

### Browse by Grade Level

1. Go to **Resources**
2. Select your child's grade level (K-5)
3. Choose a subject (Math, ELA, etc.)
4. Browse available resources (worksheets, quizzes, games, reading passages, eBooks)

### Browse by Subject

Find resources organized by subject:

* **Math**: Worksheets, quizzes, and games for number sense, operations, geometry
* **ELA**: Reading passages, phonics worksheets, grammar activities, comprehension quizzes
* **Science**: Life science, earth science, physical science
* **Social Studies**: History, geography, civics

### Search for Topics

Use the search bar to find specific skills:

* "sight words" for reading practice
* "multiplication facts" for math drills
* "phonics" for early reading skills
* "fractions" for math concepts

## Using Quick Play

Quick Play is the fastest way to start an activity with your child.

### When to Use Quick Play

* Quick practice sessions
* When your child doesn't have their own profile set up yet
* Sharing an activity with multiple children at once

## Assigning to a Child Profile

For tracked practice, assign work directly to your child's profile.

### Prerequisites

Before assigning work to a child:

1. [Set up a child profile](/account/child-profiles) in your parent account
2. Make sure you're using your parent profile (not a child profile)

### Creating an Assignment

    Browse or search for a curriculum resource (worksheet, quiz, game, reading passage, or eBook).

    Click the **Assign** button on the resource.

    Choose which child profile to assign the work to.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set Details (Optional)">
    Add any notes or instructions for your child.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create Assignment">
    Click **Create** to assign the work.

### What Your Child Sees

When you assign work to a child profile:

* They'll see the assignment on their dashboard when they log in
* They can click to start the activity
* Progress is tracked and saved to their profile

## Tracking Your Child's Progress

### Viewing Completed Work

1. Go to your **Parent Dashboard**
2. Select the child's profile
3. View their activity history and completion status

### Understanding Progress Reports

For each completed activity, you can see:

* Whether they finished the activity
* Their score (for interactive activities)
* Time spent on the activity
* Areas where they did well or struggled

## Working with Teacher Assignments

If your child's teacher uses Workybooks, your child may receive assignments from school.

### Connecting to a Teacher's Classroom

1. Get the **classroom code** from your child's teacher
2. Switch to your child's profile
3. Go to **Join Classroom**
4. Enter the teacher's code
5. Your child is now connected to the classroom

### Viewing Teacher Assignments

Once connected:

* Teacher assignments appear on your child's dashboard
* You can see assigned work and due dates from your parent dashboard
* Your child completes the work, and the teacher tracks progress

## Tips for Parents
