# Quick Play for Students

> How to use Quick Play activities shared by your teacher

Quick Play lets you start activities instantly without needing a Workybooks account. Your teacher shares a link or QR code, and you can begin right away!

## What is Quick Play?

Quick Play is a fast way to do Workybooks activities:

## How to Start a Quick Play Activity

### Option 1: Using a Link

<Steps>
  <Step title="Get the Link">
    Your teacher will share a Quick Play link. It might be:

    * Posted in your Google Classroom
    * Written on the board
    * Sent in a message or email
    * Shared in a chat

  <Step title="Click the Link">
    Click or tap on the link. It will open in your web browser.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter Your Name">
    Type your **first name** and **last name** so your teacher knows who completed the work.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Start">
    Click the **Start** button to begin the activity!
  </Step>

### Option 2: Using a QR Code

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the QR Code">
    Your teacher will display a QR code on the screen, projector, or printout.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Your Camera">
    On your phone or tablet, open the camera app.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Point at the QR Code">
    Hold your device so the camera can see the QR code. A link should appear.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap the Link">
    Tap the link that appears to open the activity in your browser.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter Your Name and Start">
    Type your name and click **Start** to begin!
  </Step>

<Tip>
  If your camera doesn't recognize QR codes, you can download a free QR scanner app from your device's app store.

## Completing a Quick Play Activity

Quick Play activities work just like regular assignments:

### Activity Types

| Type           | What to Do                                        |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| **Worksheets** | Answer questions by clicking, typing, or dragging |
| **Quizzes**    | Choose the correct answer from multiple choices   |
| **Games**      | Play through challenges and earn points           |
| **Reading**    | Read a passage and answer comprehension questions |

### Working Through the Activity

1. **Read each question carefully** before answering
2. **Select or type your answer**
3. **Move to the next question** when you're ready
4. **Complete all questions** in the activity

  Your progress is saved as you work, but only while you stay on the page. Don't close the browser until you're done!

## Submitting Your Quick Play Work

<Steps>
  <Step title="Finish All Questions">
    Make sure you've answered everything. Check for any questions you might have skipped.

  <Step title="Click Submit">
    When you're done, click the **Submit** button.

  <Step title="Confirm Your Submission">
    A message will ask if you're sure. Click **Yes** to turn in your work.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Get Your Review Link">
    After submitting, you'll receive a special link. Save this link if you want to see your results later!

### Review Token

After you submit, Workybooks gives you a **review token** (a special link). This lets you:

* See your score
* Review your answers
* Check which questions you got right or wrong

  Copy the review link or take a screenshot! You can share it with your teacher or parent to show them your work.
</Tip>

## Quick Play vs. Regular Assignments

## Important Things to Remember

<Warning>
  **Complete the activity in one sitting!** Quick Play sessions are temporary. If you close the browser before submitting, you might lose your work.
</Warning>

<Note>
  **Enter your real name.** Your teacher uses your name to track your work. Using a fake name or nickname means your teacher won't know you completed the activity!
</Note>

## Using Quick Play on Different Devices

### On a Computer or Chromebook

1. Click the link your teacher shared
2. Enter your name in the boxes
3. Click **Start**
4. Complete and submit when done

### On a Phone or Tablet

1. Scan the QR code with your camera, OR tap the link your teacher shared
2. Enter your name
3. Tap **Start**
4. Work through the activity using touch
5. Tap **Submit** when finished

  If the activity looks too small on your phone, try turning it sideways (landscape mode) for a bigger view!

## Shared Devices (Computer Labs)

If you're using Quick Play on a shared computer (like in a computer lab or library):

  <Step title="Check for Previous Sessions">
    If someone else was using the computer, their name might still be showing. Make sure to enter YOUR name instead.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete Your Work">
    Finish the entire activity before leaving your seat.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit Before Leaving">
    Always click Submit before you get up. Don't leave your work unsubmitted!
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save Your Review Link">
    Write down or screenshot your review link if you want to see your results later.
  </Step>

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="The QR code won't scan">
    Try:

    * Moving closer to or further from the code
    * Making sure there's enough light
    * Cleaning your camera lens
    * Using a QR scanner app instead of the regular camera
    * Asking your teacher for the link instead

  <Accordion title="The link doesn't work">
    * Make sure you copied the entire link (it might be long)
    * Check your internet connection
    * Try opening it in a different browser
    * Ask your teacher for a new link
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I accidentally closed the browser">
    Unfortunately, Quick Play sessions don't save across browser closes. You'll need to:

    1. Start the activity again from the beginning
    2. Enter your name again
    3. Redo your work

    Next time, make sure to finish and submit before closing!
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I lost my review link">
    If you didn't save the review link, there's no way to get it back. Ask your teacher - they can see your submission in their Quick Play dashboard.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="My name is wrong in the results">
    Once you submit, you can't change the name. Be careful to type your name correctly at the beginning. If it's wrong, let your teacher know so they can identify your work.

  <Accordion title="The activity is loading slowly">
    * Check your internet connection
    * Try refreshing the page
    * Close other browser tabs
    * Ask your teacher if others are having the same problem
