As a parent, you can assign curriculum resources to your children for practice at home. This guide explains how to find worksheets, games, reading passages, and other resources, and assign them to your child profiles.

How Parent Assignments Work

Parents can assign resources to their children in two ways:

Quick Play

Share an activity instantly. Your child enters a nickname and starts immediately. Great for practice sessions.

Assign to Child

Create a structured assignment for a specific child profile. Track their progress and completion.

Finding Resources for Your Child

  1. Go to Resources
  2. Select your child’s grade level (K-5)
  3. Choose a subject (Math, ELA, etc.)

Tips for Parents

10-20 minutes for younger children (K-2), 20-30 minutes for older children (3-5). Consistent short sessions are more effective than occasional long ones.
Start with your child’s current grade level. If it’s too easy, try the next grade up. If it’s too hard, try the previous grade for review.
Download and print resources for screen-free practice. Great for car rides, waiting rooms, or as a break from digital activities.
Focus on improvement and effort, not just correct answers. Praise your child for completing activities and trying hard.
Ask your child’s teacher what they’re learning and find related resources on Workybooks for extra practice.

Printable vs. Interactive

Printable Resources

Download and print for traditional paper practice. No screen time needed. Great for handwriting and showing work.

Interactive Resources

Complete online with instant feedback. Auto-graded with progress tracking. Engaging formats including games, quizzes, and reading activities.

Using Both

Many parents use a combination:
  • Interactive for daily practice with instant feedback
  • Printable for homework packets, travel, or screen-free time
  • Both formats cover the same educational content
