Working on Different Activity Types

Worksheets

Worksheets have different types of questions:
  • Read the question carefully
  • Look at all the answer choices
  • Click on the answer you think is correct
  • Your selection will be highlighted
  • Read the sentence or question
  • Type your answer in the blank box
  • Make sure to spell words correctly!
  • Click and hold on an item
  • Drag it to the correct location
  • Release to drop it in place
  • You can move items again if you change your mind
  • Look at the items on both sides
  • Draw a line or click to connect matching pairs
  • Think about how the items relate to each other

Reading Passages

Reading assignments usually have several parts:
1

Read the Passage

First, read the story or article carefully. Take your time to understand what it’s about.
2

Study Flashcards

Learn new vocabulary words with flashcards. Click to flip them and see the definitions.
3

Take the Quiz

Answer questions about what you read. The questions test your understanding of the passage.
4

Do Extra Activities

Your teacher may have included matching games or writing prompts. Complete these if they’re part of your assignment.
Re-read parts of the passage if you’re not sure about a quiz answer. It’s okay to go back and check!

Games & Quizzes

Interactive games make learning fun:
  • Answer questions to earn points
  • Get instant feedback on each answer
  • See correct answers when you make mistakes
  • Track your progress with a score bar
  • Try to get a high score!
Some games let you try again if you get an answer wrong. Use this chance to learn from your mistakes!

Coloring Pages

Digital coloring activities:
  1. Look at the picture you need to color
  2. Click on a color from the palette
  3. Click on the area you want to fill
  4. Keep going until the picture is complete!

Saving Your Work

Good news: Your work saves automatically!
  • Workybooks saves your progress every few seconds
  • You can close the browser and come back later
  • When you return, you’ll pick up right where you left off

How to Know Your Work is Saved

Look for the save status indicator:
  • Saving… - Your work is being saved right now
  • Saved - Everything is saved safely
  • Offline - You’re not connected to the internet (reconnect to save)
If you see “Offline” or the save indicator shows an error, check your internet connection before closing the browser. Your recent work might not be saved!

If your assignment has multiple activities:
  1. Finish an activity by answering all questions
  2. Return to the assignment view by clicking the back arrow or assignment name
  3. See your progress - completed activities will be marked with a checkmark
  4. Click another activity to continue working
You can do activities in any order. If you get stuck on one, try another and come back later!

Tips for Better Scores

Don’t rush! Make sure you understand what each question is asking before you answer.
For fill-in-the-blank questions, spelling matters. Double-check your answers.
For multiple choice, cross out answers you know are wrong. This makes it easier to find the right answer.
If you’re stuck on a reading comprehension question, go back and re-read that part of the passage.
Take a moment to look over all your answers before you click Submit. You might catch a mistake!
If a question is hard, try your best. It’s better to guess than to leave it blank.

Common Issues

You may not have completed all required activities. Go back and make sure everything is done.
This usually means there was an internet problem. Check your connection and refresh the page. If your work is gone, you may need to redo it - talk to your teacher.
Once you submit, you can’t change answers. Ask your teacher if they can reset the assignment for you.
Try:
  1. Wait a few seconds - it might be loading
  2. Refresh the page
  3. Close the browser and sign in again
  4. Ask a parent or teacher for help
Check your Done section. If the assignment is there, it was submitted. Show your teacher. If it’s not there, you may need to do it again.
