Creating a Quick Play Activity
Find a Resource
Browse or search for a curriculum resource (worksheet, quiz, game, reading passage, or eBook).
Click Quick Play
Click the Quick Play button (look for the lightning bolt icon). You’ll find this button on:
- Resource detail pages
- Resource cards
- Your favorites
Configure Options
Fill in any options (activity type, title, etc.). Quick Play assignments don’t need due dates or point values.
Sharing Your Quick Play Activity
Option 1: Share the Link
- Copy the link provided after creating the Quick Play
- Share via email, chat, learning management system, or any other method
- Students click the link to access the activity
Option 2: Display the QR Code
- Display the QR code on your screen or projector
- Students scan with their phone or tablet camera
- They’re taken directly to the activity
Option 3: Write the Code
- Note the Quick Play code
- Write it on the board
- Students go to workybooks.com and enter the code
Student Experience
When students access a Quick Play activity:Students don’t need a Workybooks account for Quick Play. They just need a device with a web browser.
Managing Quick Play Activities
Viewing Your Quick Play Sessions
- Go to My Classrooms
- Click the Quick Play tab
- See all your Quick Play activities
Quick Play Dashboard Shows:
- Activity title and content
- Creation date
- Share link and QR code
- Number of participants
Editing a Quick Play
- Open the Quick Play from your list
- Click Edit
- Update settings as needed
- Save changes
Deleting a Quick Play
- Open the Quick Play activity
- Click Delete
- Confirm deletion
Tips for Quick Play
Use descriptive nicknames

If you want to identify responses, ask students to use their real names or assigned numbers as nicknames.

Quick Play links remain active. Save them for activities you use repeatedly.

Use Quick Play as a conversation starter. After students complete the activity, discuss the answers together.
Quick Play for Reading Passages
When creating a Quick Play for a reading passage, you can still select which activities to include:- Read: The passage (always included)
- Flashcards: Vocabulary practice (always included)
- Quiz: Comprehension questions (optional)
- Matching: Connect concepts (optional)
- Writing: Written response (optional)
Limitations
Quick Play is designed for simplicity, so some features aren’t available:- No individual tracking: Responses are anonymous (based on nicknames only)
- No grade book integration: Results don’t appear in your classroom grades
- No due dates: Activities remain open indefinitely until you delete them
- No Google Classroom sync: Quick Play activities aren’t synced to Google Classroom

- Make sure the QR code is displayed clearly and large enough
- Ensure good lighting (no glare on the screen)
- Try having students type the link instead

- Check that the Quick Play hasn’t been deleted
- Make sure students are using the complete URL
- Try copying and pasting the link again

- Workybooks works best on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge
- Make sure the device has internet access
- Try refreshing the page
