Tips for Quick Play

If you want to identify responses, ask students to use their real names or assigned numbers as nicknames.
For whole-class activities, project the QR code so everyone can scan at once.
Use Quick Play as a conversation starter. After students complete the activity, discuss the answers together.

Quick Play for Reading Passages

When creating a Quick Play for a reading passage, you can still select which activities to include:
  • Read: The passage (always included)
  • Flashcards: Vocabulary practice (always included)
  • Quiz: Comprehension questions (optional)
  • Matching: Connect concepts (optional)
  • Writing: Written response (optional)

Limitations

Quick Play is designed for simplicity, so some features aren’t available:
  • No individual tracking: Responses are anonymous (based on nicknames only)
  • No grade book integration: Results don’t appear in your classroom grades
  • No due dates: Activities remain open indefinitely until you delete them
  • No Google Classroom sync: Quick Play activities aren’t synced to Google Classroom
For tracked, graded work, use the Assign feature instead.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure the QR code is displayed clearly and large enough
  • Ensure good lighting (no glare on the screen)
  • Try having students type the link instead
  • Workybooks works best on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge
  • Make sure the device has internet access
  • Try refreshing the page
